Short Hills is an enclave located within Millburn and has a population of a little less than 14,000 residents. . Millburn and Short Hills share a school district that consistently ranks as one of the strongest both locally and nationally.  Experience easy access to all local highways and two train stations within a 40-minute ride to NYC. Experience the beauty of Greenwood Gardens, a 28-acre historic public garden in Short Hills bordering the South Mountain Reservation. the garden was originally owned and cultivated in the early 20th century by Joseph P. Day, as a retreat from the heat of the city. The property was brought back to life many years later by Peter Blanchard Jr. and his wife Adelaide Frick. Currently established as a non-profit conservation organization, with the hope of connecting visitors with the power of nature and the appreciation of its beauty.

Short Hills is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Millburn Township, in Essex CountyNew Jersey, United States.  It is a popular commuter town for residents who work in New York City. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 13,165.   It is notable for being an affluent community. The median listing price of its homes was $1.75 million in February 2012, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, citing data from Zillow. It is home to the upscale Mall at Short Hills along the border with both Morris and Union counties near the Passaic River

In 2014, Time magazine named it the "Richest Town in America" with seven in ten household incomes above $150,000 per year, the highest percentage in the United States. According to Forbes magazine, in 2016 the median income in Short Hills was $229,222] In 2018, Bloomberg positioned Short Hills at fifth in the country in its 100 Richest places ranking, with an average household income of $354,479
